Leave a Legacy

Let Your Generosity Live On

Legacy giving is an expression of what matters most to you and your family. As someone who has made a difference in your community, you can magnify and extend your impact for generations to come by including a gift to the Community Foundation in your estate plan.

Your gift will ensure the community’s stability and vibrancy and will establish your legacy of generosity and foresight.

What is Planned (or Legacy) Giving?

Planned giving is the gift or transfer of assets to a nonprofit organization during your lifetime or as part of your estate plan. By adding a gift in your will to the charities or causes you’ve cared most about in your lifetime, you can make a meaningful difference for future generations and create your own long-lasting legacy of caring and generosity.

You don’t have to be wealthy. Your planned gift, in any amount, is deeply impactful and appreciated.

Why Make a Planned Gift to the Community Foundation?

Your planned gift to LAMVCF helps the community now and for generations to come and provides consistent support for the critical work of local nonprofits. We will work closely with you to tailor a planned gift that meets your needs and fulfills your charitable wishes.

Making a Planned Gift Can Be Easy!

It can work in tandem with other family priorities – Planned giving is not an “all or nothing” option. Gifts can exist side-by-side with other beneficiaries and personal priorities.

It can provide generous tax benefits – Depending upon the type of gift, short-term and/or long-term tax benefits may apply. Donors at a variety of income levels can benefit. Be sure to consult with your financial or estate planner for more specifics.

It can involve assets you may have yet to consider – A life insurance policy, real estate, stocks, a retirement fund, business holdings, or a savings account.

It can generate an income stream – In return for the donation of real estate, stocks, or other assets, donors can receive a series of regular payments.

A Planned Gift is Long Remembered – Join Our Legacy Circle!

When you designate a planned gift to LAMVCF, you’ll automatically be invited to join our Legacy Circle. Legacy Circle members receive immediate recognition (should they not wish to remain anonymous) for their forward-thinking gift and are invited to special Community Foundation events and programs.
