Petals, Prosecco & a Pretty Big Announcement
What do flowers, fizz, and housing have in common?
They’re all coming together on May 7th and you’re invited.
On May 7th from 4:30–6:30 PM, the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation and the Los Altos History Museum are throwing open the garden gates for Petals & Prosecco.
Dress cute. Bring your appetite for good conversation. And maybe practice your “surprised but thrilled” face because we’ve got an announcement that’s been months in the making.
But First, Why Does Any of This Matter?
Here’s the thing about the Bay Area: it’s home to some of the most dedicated, talented, hardworking people around. Teachers. Nurses. Firefighters. The barista who knows your order. The aide who shows up for your neighbor’s family.
These are the people who make a community feel like a community.
And a lot of them can’t afford to live in the community they work in.
That gap between where people work and where they can actually afford to sleep at night is exactly what LAMVCF has been rolling up its sleeves to address. Through the $1 Million Affordable Housing Investment Fund (launched this January in partnership with the City of Mountain View), and through our Live Where You Work Challenge (an open call for bold, practical, creative ideas to help bridge that divide), we’ve been asking the community to dream bigger about what’s possible.
And the Winner Is…
…worth clearing your calendar, finding a sitter, and showing up in person to celebrate. Trust us on this one.
At Petals & Prosecco, we’ll be announcing the Live Where You Work Challenge winner. One idea selected to receive a $25,000 grant (plus potential fiscal sponsorship) to turn their vision into reality. We’re talking about real, community-generated solutions to one of the most pressing issues of our time.
Come Be Part of It
Whether you’re a longtime LAMVCF supporter, someone who just cares deeply about this community, or honestly just someone who really loves prosecco and flowers, this evening is for you.
