Meet the People Turning Vision into Impact
Crysta Krames
CEO
Crysta Krames(opens in new tab) brings over 25 years of leadership in the nonprofit and behavioral health sectors to her role as CEO of the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation. She began her career as a case manager for foster youth in Chicago, a role that sparked her lifelong commitment to building social systems that create opportunities for people to thrive.
Crysta holds a Master of Public Administration and served on the Foundation's Board from 2012 to 2019, a connection that inspired her to step into leadership as CEO in 2024 and help guide LAMVCF's next chapter. She is dedicated to strengthening the philanthropic fabric of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View by building strong relationships with residents, mobilizing resources, and fostering effective public–private partnerships.
An active civic leader, Crysta has served as President of the Rotary Club of Los Altos, is a past Director of the Fine Art in the Park Show, and graduated from Leadership Mountain View in 1999. She lives in Los Altos with her family, two dogs, and two cats named Thelma and Louise, which while endearing still equates to too many pets.

Abi Karlin-Resnick

Impact & Operations
Abi Karlin-Resnick brings an extensive background in nonprofit management, having served in roles that touch every part of organizational operations – direct service, fundraising, financial management, communications, strategy development, and program evaluation. Over the last 25 years, she has worked in a variety of organizations in London, Boston, Chicago, and the Bay Area. She started out managing youth programs in disinvested communities in Chicago and then shifted her social impact focus to nonprofit administration and fundraising. For 10 years, she served as the Executive Director of Health Connected, a leading provider of reproductive health education in California. Most recently, she has served in various interim leadership roles and provides consulting on program evaluation, strategic planning, revenue generation, operational excellence, and organizational performance management with a specialty in supporting small social impact organizations.
Abi grew up in Los Altos, attending Loyola Elementary, Blach Jr. High, and Mountain View High School. She now lives in Palo Alto with her husband and two kids. She holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Education from UCLA, an MBA with a concentration in Public and Nonprofit Management from Boston University, an MS in Educational Improvement and Transformation from Drexel University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management, also from Drexel University.

Arya Patel
Community Engagement Coordinator
Arya Patel is a recent graduate of Chico State with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations, during her time at Chico State she was an active member in the J&PR department and served as director of PR for the student run PR agency, Tehama Group Communications. Arya is excited to hone her PR and social media skills at the foundation while creating new connections and opportunities for the fiscally sponsored projects at LAMVCF.
As an almost lifelong Bay Area native, Arya is a product of Huff, Graham and Mountain View High School. She spent her childhood playing competitive softball leading her to become a SF Giants superfan. Outside of work, Arya enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants in the area, spending time outdoors with friends and family and her cat, Sadie, in no particular order.

Hank Drew
IT & Data Management
Hank Drew is an IT professional with a background in technology, design and writing. Before joining LAMVCF, he worked with Bay Area technology companies and as a reporter and photographer.
Hank moved to the Bay Area from Kentucky 20 years ago. He lives in San Jose with his daughter Zoey, and a Pineapple Conure. He is a roadie for his daughter’s rock band and volunteers for various school functions.
He is passionate about access to the arts, protecting what’s left of the environment, and voting rights issues.

Kathy Camin
Director of Finance
Kathy Camin is an accounting and finance professional with deep experience in the technology and nonprofit sectors. A graduate of LAMVCF ’s 2016 LEAD program (now Community Leadership Program), Kathy’s passion for education and community lead to various board positions including Treasurer of the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, the MVHS PTSA, and the East Side Union High School Education Foundation, as well as the MVHS AVID Mentor Program Lead for MVLA Scholars.
Kathy received a BS in Accounting from San Jose State University and an MBA from Santa Clara University. She lived in Los Altos with her husband, Mark, for over 25 years raising 3 children. Now an empty nester, Kathy lives in Portland Oregon, but frequently visits her extended family in Los Altos and the Bay Area.

Kathy Lera
Donor Relations Manager
is a seasoned professional whose career spans business development, sales, marketing, and community engagement. A lifelong Los Altos resident, she has blended her deep hometown roots with decades of experience across the private, nonprofit, and public sectors.
Kathy began her career at the Los Altos Chamber of Commerce as its first paid employee and Executive Director. She then launched a 30-year career in high-tech international sales—particularly in the printed circuit board industry—working with Fortune 500 companies around the world and navigating the continuously evolving Silicon Valley landscape.
After her high-tech chapter, Kathy returned to Los Altos to serve as Chief Marketing Officer and co-publisher of the Los Altos Town Crier. In 2024, she joined the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation, bringing her skills and community passion to the organization.
Known for her volunteerism and board service, Kathy remains deeply committed to strengthening the connections that make Los Altos a vibrant, engaged community.

Tiffany Chou
Marketing Communications Manager
Tiffany Chou serves as Marketing Communications Manager where she leads efforts to share the Foundation’s mission and strengthen connections with the community. With more than a decade of experience in marketing and communications, she has developed expertise in creating impactful campaigns, building engagement, and managing high-profile initiatives.
Deeply rooted in the Los Altos community, Tiffany also serves on the board of the Los Altos Library Endowment, leads a Girl Scout troop, volunteers as a youth counselor at her church, and supports the Los Altos School District as a parent volunteer. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Mass Communications from UC Berkeley.

Valeria Rura
Staff Accountant & Donor Relations Coordinator
Valeria Rura serves as Staff Accountant at the Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation, where she ensures the accuracy of financial records and supports the smooth operation of the Foundation’s programs. Detail-oriented and community-minded, she is committed to providing clear and reliable financials that strengthen the Foundation’s impact.
Originally from Ukraine, Valeria spent nine years in Israel before settling in the Bay Area with her husband and two children. She brings warmth, curiosity, and a global perspective to her work and is fluent in five languages. Outside of the office, Valeria enjoys exploring the Bay Area with her family and connecting with her local community.
