About The Program

Since 1995, LAMVCF’s Community Leadership Program (formerly LEAD) has been a flagship civic leadership and community building program for Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View residents. Over four months, students explore topics from local government operations to advocacy and community building.

Get Ready To…

  • Learn about the needs of our community and the leaders and organizations responding to those needs
  • Identify your leadership style and the styles of others, and understand the impact on civic participation
  • Forge strong connections and discover common areas of interest with your neighbors
  • Craft your unique path to making an impact.

Many of our 470+ graduates have run for public office, become nonprofit executives and board members, served on commissions, and supported major community initiatives.

I am grateful to Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation for knowing there are people in the community who are asking, ‘What else can I do?’ and creating this opportunity for us. Invaluable."
