Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation (LAMVCF) Returns as Primary Sponsor for Compassion Week 2026
The Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation (LAMVCF) is honored to return as the primary sponsor of Compassion Week 2026, a weeklong gathering of neighbors, service, and community spirit from October 3–11 for the Santa Clara and San Mateo communities.
Every fall, Compassion Week turns compassion into action across nearly 70 local nonprofits and dozens of Bay Area cities, and LAMVCF is honored to help power that work,” said Crysta Krames, CEO of Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation (LAMVCF). “What I love most happens in between the projects, when a volunteer works side by side with someone new and realizes their neighborhood is full of people who care just as much as they do. Compassion Week doesn’t just get things done, it forges relationships around service to others.
More than 4,400 community members will come together as we celebrate the 14th year of Compassion Week. This year will feature over 70 local nonprofits, and over 200 community impact projects and community forums.
“In these challenging times for so many in our community, we are thrilled to bring neighbors, peers and co-workers together for service and fun knowing that each individual action has a positive impact in our neighborhoods, with our families and for all who participate,” said Jan McDaniel, Compassion Week founder and Chairperson.
Volunteer opportunities are available both in-person and at home for all ages and abilities, ensuring everyone can take part. To learn more and sign up, visit compassionweeklosaltos.org or siliconvalleyvolunteers.org.
