Los Altos Mountain View Community Foundation (LAMVCF) announced today that it’s Grants Committee (composed of community volunteers) has awarded $125,000 in its fall grants cycle to 59 local nonprofits and programs. These organizations address the needs and improve the quality of life for residents of all walks of life in Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Mountain View.

The grants help nonprofits strengthen their capacity to provide local services. Awardees include the Day Worker Center of Mountain View’s essential service of matching local employers with reliable workers, Justice Vanguard’s equity initiatives, Community Service Agency (CSA)’s safety net efforts for vulnerable populations, Living Classroom’s school education programs, and Los Altos Stage Company’s theater productions.

“LAMVCF’s community grants are very effective in helping local nonprofits make sustainable impact in our local community,” said Nadja Jackson, Program Officer. “We’re proud of how these grants will support ongoing initiatives, and also enable the development of new, innovative programs.”

In the spring, the committee will award $100k toward economic security efforts.
